Login / Registration

To register an account or login into an existing account, locant.tv offers you the possibility to use a pre-existing account from any of these services:

  1. Facebook
  2. TikTok
  3. Trovo
  4. Twitch.tv
  5. YouTube

Once you registered your account with locant.tv, that account is directly tied to the pre-existing account from the service you used for registration. You need to use the same service, otherwise a new account on locant.tv will be created. If you want to switch the service you are using to login, see the section Login Service.

locant.tv currently does not offer the possibility to create an account directly with locant.

Follows Import

To get you started quickly on locant.tv you can import creators you follow on other services to locant. To do so, click on your profile picture on the top right of your screen and select "Import follows" or visit the Import page directly. Select the service you want to import creators from and click through the process. If the creator not already has a profile on locant.tv, a new profile will be automatically created and content will be collected going forward.

Please note, that due to technical limitations, only the following services are currently supported:

  1. Twitch.tv
  2. YouTube

User Settings

To customize your locant.tv experience, you can visit the User Settings page or click on your profile picture on the top right of your screen and select "Settings".

Embedded Player

The embedded player enables you to view content directly on locant.tv, without leaving the app. It adapts to the content you want to view, by embedding live chats or changing the display format for shorts.

Due to technical limitations, only the following services are supported by the embedded player:

  1. TikTok
  2. Trovo
  3. Twitch.tv
  4. YouTube

If the service is not yet supported or if you disable the embedded player, the content will open in the native app or website. You can come back to locant.tv at any point and continue where you left off.

Login Service

As mentioned on the Login / Registration section, once you registered your account, you will always need to use the same service to login that you used during registration. If you want to change the service you are using to login, you can change the service in your user settings. Simply choose a new service, grant permissions to locant.tv and your are all set.

Premium

To leverage locant.tv to its full potential, you have the possibility to subscribe to our premium offering. For only 3,99€ a month, you get access to additional features that will enable you to organize your content even better. We plan to add more features in the future, so stay tuned for more.

To subscribe to premium, visit the User Settings page or click on your profile picture on the top right of your screen and select "Settings". In your settings, the top section is dedicted to your premium subscription. From here, you can find the checkout page. If you decide that you want to cancel your premium subscription, you can do so here as well.

Favorites

To discover content from your creators you like the most quickly, you can add them as favorites.

  1. Content of favorite creators is highlighted in your feeds, causing it to stand out prominently.
  2. You get access to the favorite feed, only displaying the content of your favorite creators.

To add a creator to your favorites, follow these instructions:

  1. Visit the profile of a creator and make sure you are following the creator.
  2. Click on the "Followed" button and check the "Favorite" box.

Playlists

Organize content just as you like. Playlists are personalized feeds, that display content accourding to your rules. To create a new playlist, do the following:

  1. Press the "Create Playlist" in the menu bar.
  2. A dialog will appear were you enter the name of the playlist you want to create. The playlist name must be unique.
  3. Once you confirm the playlist name, the playlist will appear on your menu bar.

A new playlist will be empty at first. To add content to it or change the content you already configured, do the following:

  1. Press the "Playlist Editor" button at the top, while you are viewing the playlist.
  2. A dialog will appear, where you configure creators and tags.
    • To add a creator to your playlist, search their name on the search bar and select the creator from the suggestions that will appear. Please note, that you need to follow the creator for it to appear in your search. To remove a creator from the playlist, press the little "x" next to their name.
    • To add a tag to your playlist, type in the tag you want to add to your playlist, and press the little "+" button. To remove a tag from the playlist, press the little "x" next to the tag.
  3. Your playlist will contain content of all creators you have selected. If you added additional tags, only content that has any of the selected tags attached to it.

If you want to customize which types of content you want to see on your playlist, do the following:

  1. Press the "Feed Settings" button at the top, while you are viewing the playlist.
  2. Select the content types you want to see on your playlist.
  3. Please note that these settings are specific for each individual playlist. It will not effect the feed settings you have configured for your main feed or the feed settings of other playlists.

Creator Functionalities

If you are a content creator and want to shape your locant.tv presence, click on your profile picture on the top right of your screen and select "Creator overview" or visit the Creator overview page directly. In case you do not already have a creator account, you can active it on this page. Once done, you will be redirected to the creator overview.

Customize your profile appearance

To control the display name and your profile picture of your creator profile, you can select which linked account you want to use as a reference. locant.tv currently offers no way to upload a custom picture or change the name directly, to prevent impersonation attempts by users with malicious intent.

Managing linked accounts

One of the key benefits of locant.tv for creators and users is the linking of multiple accounts from a wide variety of services into a single profile. To add an account to your creator profile, do the following:

  1. Press the "Link Account" button.
  2. Follow the instructions on the screen.

You can repeat this process any number of times to add multiple accounts. If the account you linked is already present on locant.tv, because it was automatically imported by a user, the pre-existing channel and creator profile will be linked to your account. It will keep all its followers it already has.

If you want to delete a linked account, just press the delete button next to the linked account. Please note that this action can not be reversed and all content and follows are also lost forever.

Updating a linked account

locant.tv will automatically update information from your linked account once every day. If you changed your display name or profile picture on the linked account and want the changes to reflect sooner, you can click on the refresh symbol next to the account. Your account will then be refreshed within the next hour.
